SOPHIE GERMAIN MUN 2024

February 21st, 22nd and 23rd

WHAT IS MODEL UNITED NATIONS ?

Model United Nations is a United Nations simulation designed to train participants in international negotiations. These simulations aim to promote human rights, communication and international relations skills, as well as the basics of diplomacy.

As part of the UN simulations, students take on the role of ambassadors or foreign ministers, participating in simulations of international sections of the UN. Participants are asked to research countries, debates and international issues in an attempt to find solutions to global problems.

Through MUN, participants gain a deeper understanding of international relations, develop cultural awareness, and cultivate leadership abilities. It is a valuable experience that prepares students for future engagement in global affairs.

GERMUN

The Lycée français Sophie Germain invites you to its Model United Nations (MUN). To be held in February 2024, this conference is the ideal place to practice the tools of diplomacy and international relations, and is open to all high school and university students aged 15 to 22.

Hundreds of thousands of students from all over the world and at different levels of education take part in the Model UN every year. Our school, the Lycée français sophie Germain, offers us and you, the participants from all over the world, an opportunity to debate a wide range of subjects while acting as ambassadors.

This year, the GERMUN Club intends to organize its first Grand MUN, where students between the ages of 15 and 22 can participate, representing different establishments and institutions at both the national and the international levels.

The novelty of this edition is that it will be carried out in 4 languages (French, English, Spanish and Arabic), represented in four different organizations: The United Nations, the African Union, the Arab League and the Ibero-American Summit. The event will take place at the facilities of the International University of Rabat.

A LITTLE WORD FROM OUR SECRETARY GENERAL...

MINA BOYARDAN

Secretary General

Dear delegates, participants of the IMMUN,

It’s with a great honor that I take the floor as Secretary General in order to welcome each and everyone of you to the official website of the Model United Nations belonging to our school.

The Model UN is much more than just a basic simulation of diplomatic exchange. We are all here, in order to engage in social, economical as well as political discussions, and so many more. Thanks to the Model UN, we get a deeper understanding of our environment, also the complicated world we live in. It is all about collaboration, exchange and coming together in order to find a common ground and create solutions helpful to every party. None of these elements would be possible without our delegations, young and curious spirits in quest for knowledge and understanding.

Your choice to participate in the Model UN goes beyond an individual choice, it is an act of global citizenship and a commitment to improve our world, a training to become tomorrow’s leaders. The world is in our hands. It is thanks to your debates, your discussions and your capacities in decision making that every distinguished one of you contributes to forging a future where understanding transcends borders.

I encourage you to discover our website with enthusiasm and curiosity as it characterizes our community. Our pages guide you to new opportunities and I hope that they equally inspire you to put your all into this unique experience.

Hoping that your journey at the International Model UN of Morocco (IMMUN) is imprinted with discoveries, success and personal growth. You are a bypasser, and we hope to transmit solely the best of our values whilst you are part of our community.

Sincerely devoted to your accomplishments as delegates,

Mina Boyardan
